Oceans(water ) will heat faster and cool faster than continents(land). true or false? why?

False. Water has a high specific heat capacity, which means that it is slow to change temperature. The temperature of the ocean always lags behind that of the air on a seasonal cycle.Oceans(water ) will heat faster and cool faster than continents(land). true or false? why?
False. Earth is a container carrying oceans as contents. That is why earth has different levels or heights on different sides. Sea level is the same. Contents heat and cool after container is heated or cooled.Oceans(water ) will heat faster and cool faster than continents(land). true or false? why?
False. Water has a large heat capacity, and supports thermal circulation, increasing the mass to be heated or cooled.
true
land masses give off heat faster than water
yes
Land masses definetely give off heat and cool down faster. If you think about it. It takes a while before you can go out and swim in the ocean because the water is so cold. Also it takes a long time before the ocean can get as cold as the land can.
The ocean is flat as compared to land(mountains, buildings, trees), therefore the sun's rays are'nt broken up, thus the water captures more heat. When the sun sets, the water will cool rapidly because of its flatness and all the cold water beneath the surface is draining the heat away. Now having said all that, I would'nt bet any money on if its true or not, just seems to be common sense to me,but I can't count the number of times I've been wrong! Good luck in finding a good answer. It was a great question.
